Renomune-S

INDICATION

Renomune-S 360 is an immunosuppressant drug used to prevent rejection in organ transplantation ( renal, cardiac or hepatic transplants ).

DESCRIPTION

Mycophenolate Sodium is the sodium salt form of mycophenolic acid (MPA).

it is widely used to prevent tissue rejection following organ transplants and for the treatment of certain autoimmune diseases.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Mycophenolate Sodium inhibits an enzyme needed for the growth of T cells and B cells and is one of the most potent immunosuppressants used extensively in transplant medicine. Mycophenolate sodium is rapidly absorbed following oral administration and hydrolyzed to form MPA, which is the active metabolite. MPA is a potent, selective, uncompetitive, and reversible inhibitor of inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH). MPA inhibits proliferative responses of T- and B-lymphocytes to both mitogenic and allospecific stimulation.
